Government Contracting Training Online: Learn From Anywhere in the U.S.

You can take our government contracting training live online from anywhere in the U.S. The Government Contracting Academy is a 54-hour, 9-module program, and the Friday Contracting Workshops are 2-hour sessions on single skills. Both are taught live by The Ayangbah Foundation, so you can ask questions in real time, and both are also offered in person in downtown San Bernardino.

Who online training is for

  • Small business owners who want to sell to federal, state or local government.
  • Job seekers interested in proposal writing, grant writing or contract administration.
  • Nonprofit staff who respond to grant notices.
  • Anyone who cannot travel to San Bernardino but wants live instruction.

What you learn in the Academy

  1. How government buys
  2. Procurement and ethics
  3. Registrations and certifications, including SAM.gov
  4. Finding opportunities
  5. Bid/no-bid decisions
  6. Reading solicitations, RFPs and grant notices
  7. Proposals and grant narratives
  8. Pricing inputs
  9. Post-award contract administration

You finish with a career portfolio you can use with employers, clients or your own business.

Live online, not self-paced

Recorded courses are easy to start and easy to abandon. Live classes give you a schedule, an instructor and classmates working through the same material. You can ask about the solicitation you are looking at this week, not a generic example.

Plan around your time zone

Our class times are listed in Pacific time. If you are on the East Coast, add three hours. For example, the Friday Workshops run 12 to 2 PM Pacific, which is 3 to 5 PM Eastern. The evening Academy cohort, 6 to 9 PM Pacific, may suit West Coast learners who work during the day, while the day cohort may suit East Coast learners in the late afternoon.
